The Fourth AR/VR Hackathon is live!
It’s an event for specialists from various fields who want to grab a share of the booming augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) market and are ready to execute own ideas or help out other visionaries in realizing theirs!
During the intense, weekend-long augmented and virtual reality jamming session, professionals with different skill sets, backgrounds, and experiences get together to create disruptive and inspiring products for any sector that can reap the benefits. You can apply on behalf of a team, or you can arrive on your own and let us form your dream team on the first night.
If you are a developer, 3D artist, designer, visionary, engineer, creator, and you feel you’re ready to push forward and develop your ideas or join someone’s team — you have to participate!
The main prize is realizing an awesome idea that can turn into a startup, but there is also a gift for the best project courtesy of Overly – 500€!
Mentoring
There will also be mentors from many different areas of business who are working with augmented and virtual reality daily, including Overly, Accenture, Anatomy Next, Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, and others. This year we are welcoming back our international mentor, Trond Nilsen, from the AR/VR tech development epicenter in Seattle, USA.
Hardware
During the event, you will be able to work with such hardware as Microsoft Hololens, Magic Leap, Oculus Go, Oculus Quest, Oculus Rift S, HTC Vive Pro, Daqri smart glasses and other cool stuff.
Is experience in AR/VR a must-have for participants?
Participants do not have to be experienced in augmented and virtual reality development. During the three days and two nights, you will learn and work on idea execution/problem-solving and can take up different roles within a team. However, you must consider what skill set you can bring to the table, be it basic knowledge in programming, graphic design, 3D modeling, marketing, or other.
Practical information
The event takes place in Valmiera, Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences.
All participants will have an area where to work and a place to lie down if needed. During the event, food and soft drinks will be provided by organizers.
It is advised that you take with you your laptop and stuff you are comfortable doing work on. However, if you cannot take your computer, we will provide you with one — just let us know in advance.
